Let’s talk about denim! Denim is in everyone’s closet and will always be in style! There are so many different styles of denim on the market and my absolute favorite denim line is Kut From the Kloth! Oh my goodness- I wish I would have known about these jeans years ago because they are that AMAZING! They are so comfortable and can be worn literally all day long! They are premium denim so they will give a little, so size down!
The fit of a jean that you go with all depends on your body type! The 7 body shape’s I will be talking about are Pear Shape, Apple Shape, Curvy, Busty, Petite, Hourglass, and Tall.
Pear Shape body types tend to carry their weight in their hips, butt and their legs. To give the illusion of having long and thinner legs I recommend going with a lighter wash denim that is mid-rise. I fall under a couple different body types and pear shape is one of them! My go-to mid-rise light wash denim are the Connie Ankle Skinnies from Kut By The Kloth
Apple Shape body types tend to carry their weight around their stomachs. Finding the right denim can be tricky because you want to be comfortable, especially when wearing jeans! I recommend wearing a medium to dark wash denim that is either a mid-rise or a high-rise. Mid-rise jeans should sit a couple inches below your belly button and high-rise denim should fit right below your belly button. The best style of jean would be a straight leg to show off your figure without making you look heavy!
Curvy body types should chose denim that has a slimming effect! Show off your body with denim that shows off your curves and your favorite assets, but hides the parts that you aren’t in love with. I am curvy so I understand the struggle of finding denim that fits best with my body type! For me I prefer wearing a mid-rise denim because it fits just right on my body. If you have a flat stomach I would suggest a low-rise skinny!
Busty body types need to chose jeans that compliment your top portion as well as your bottom! It is important to create balance throughout your outfit and body so you don’t appear heavy. A low-rise and mid-rise bootcut will balance you out!
Petite body types can just about wear anything! It still is important to find the right denim that will show off your body and not cover you up. A long skinny denim will show off your small figure!
Hourglass body types need to wear jeans that compliment their waist line and hips! If you are tall you can rock a low-rise or a high-rise jean! You can also wear a dark wash skinny jean!
Tall body types should be wearing denim that shows off your legs! I recommend a couple fits- a boyfriend jean will still show the length of your legs but will just make you look relaxed! I love a good boyfriend jean, especially with rips all down the front! Skinny jeans are also a great denim to wear if you’re tall to really show off your legs!
